Sheila A. Davis, EdD, LMHC, CAP, NCC, DCC is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (MH7613), Certified Additions Professional (4850) and Relationship Coach. She earned her Doctoral Degree from Argosy University in Sarasota, Florida. She also earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Alabama A&M University in Normal, Alabama, and her Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama. In addition, she attended the Relationship Coaching Institute. She is a facilitator of the Prepare-Enrich program for premarital counseling.
Dr. Davis has practiced in a variety of settings and brings over fifteen years of experience. She has worked in a community mental health center as the Senior Vice President of Children’s Services in the Central Florida area. She also served as the Chair of the Professional Development committee with the primary function of overseeing the clinical development of clinical staff. She has also worked as a Clinical Director for two juvenile justice facilities with responsibility of managing the mental health and substance abuse programs.
Dr. Davis has spent several years providing individual, group, family, couples counseling to children and families. She utilizes cognitive behavioral techniques, psycho-educational activities and incorporates play as a form of treatment for younger children. Her focus includes an array of issues including ADHD, ODD, self-esteem, academic difficulties, bullying issues, anger management, decision-making and family conflict. She works with adults on issues related to depression, marital conflict, pre-marital counseling, anger management, and abuse issues. She provides coaching to adults experiencing life transitions including being single, divorce or marital issues.
She has a passion to help children, adolescents, adults, and couples become healthier, happier, stronger, and confident individuals. Dr. Davis provides Christian Counseling for those who have a desire to incorporate treatment with Christian-based principles. Her rich personal experiences and extensive educational and clinical background equips her to help children & families and couples to BREAKTHROUGH life’s challenges and begin living a satisfying lifestyle.
